We are starting the week off healthy with fish topped with puttanesca sauce, a side of chickpeas and spinach, bread rolls…yum! Puttanesca is an Italian sauce with a tangy and somewhat salty taste. It is normally served on pasta, but the sauce is so good, why not pair it with fish?halibut a la puttanesca halibut a la puttanesca

**Helpful tips and common mistakes

Halibut can be a pricey fish but this recipe is so versatile you can use any white fish with great success.

You can also use whole tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes or canned tomatoes if they are not in season. After you add the remaining ingredients, reduce the heat and let the tomatoes simmer with the capers, white wine, and anchovies to make a delicious sauce.

For our meal, I also made chickpeas with spinach and served a hot bread roll. This halibut a la puttanesca was so easy to prepare and did I mention, delicious? Healthy, flavorful, and oh so satisfying.
